OK! I don’t get it, Newt Gingrich is running for president? The man who loudly and often condemned Bill Clinton for the Monica Lewinsky affair while he was having an affair with one of his aids.
What I don’t get is how he could dream of running, after already proving he is an adulterous liar. And you would be right on one level.
But what amazes and dazes me the most is that we have become such a hardened society that not many people are very surprised that “The Newt’ not to be confused with “The Donald” would run, corruption and lies is just another yawn, and oh yea been there done that, what’s new? History repeats it’s self.
But at least when Bill Clinton’s was elected we didn’t know his zipper had a gravity problem, we didn’t know he was an adulterous liar. But now “The Newt” says, you can trust me I’ve already proven myself to be an adulterous liar.
I just don’t get it. Do I have to say he has a very long way to go to make me trust him.
A student at the University of Pennsylvania put it very well in February 2011 when he asks:
“You adamantly oppose gay rights ... but you've also been married three times and admitted to having an affair with your current wife while you were still married to your second," Isabel Friedman, president of Penn Democrats, said to Gingrich. "As a successful politician who's considering running for president, who would set the bar for moral conduct and be the voice of the American people, how do you reconcile this hypocritical interpretation of the religious values that you so vigorously defend?"
